I'm Happy in a TuTu

Ok, maybe I just think Kai is  happier in a tutu. If that is even possible for her to be happier cause she is one happy baby. I just love the tutu pants combo. I would own one in every size and color if I had it my way. The pink one she has on is from the Gap and I am seriously considering buying it again in a larger size. I made the mistake of not buying her last brown one in a larger size and now it's too small and that makes me a sad panda. 

Sea Lions

We took Kai to the Zoo today to see the sea lions. Last time we tried to see the sea lions the line was too long.  Not this time we got right in and I think Kai was in like with them.

Spaghetti and Peanut Butter. What?

When I was little my Dad always ate spaghetti pilled high on a peanut butter sandwich. I remembered this yummy combination today and decided to make spaghetti for supper tonight.  I have to say the spaghetti with a peanut butter sandwich was just as wonderfully good as I remembered it. Just goes to show peanut butter is good on everything.

Spaghetti is made with soy crumbles not meat.

Coffee Meet up

I have been going to coffee meet up group on some Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is a nice way to get out of the house and I think Kai likes looking at other babies. Everyone brings a blanket and lays the baby on the floor to play while the Mom's try and drink some coffee.

 on the coffee shop floor, but did not know if that was PC
and don't want to get kicked out of my Mom's group;) So here is
Kai before she fell asleep from all that playing.

brownie peanut butter thingy

I made a new concoction today and it sounded like a good idea but I think I will just stick to brownies next time as the peanut butter layer was left in the pan and the brownie goodness eaten.  I put peanut butter cookie batter on the bottom of the pan and then a brownie layer on the top and baked to gooey goodness. Kai liked making brownies until she feel asleep on her Momma. 

More Yum

If you have a Whole Foods around you I suggest Grilled Brie with cherry sauce and walnuts and at, I think, 12ish dollars, kinda cheap. Also for supper tonight I made zucchini stir fry, also very yummy as my husband would say.

Side Note
Tonight I had a glass of Pinot Noir. It was Kali Heart which I first had with some good friends in Cali.  This is, in my book an expensive bottle of wine at 20 some dollars a bottle and it comes with a screw top, now some find this kinda cheesy, but I seek out the screw top as I no longer can polish off a bottle of wine like I could in my younger days. I think its nice I can just screw the lid back on. Cheesy maybe, practical yep.

The brie comes with this wooden plank to grill it on. 

Perfect dinner

Zucchini stir fry

2 zucchinis
1/2 red onion
1 red pepper
garlic
1 veggie bouillon cube
salt and pepper
a little water
1 tablespoon olive oil
Parmesan to sprinkle on top

I heated up the olive oil and threw everything in the skillet and then sprinkled the parmesan on top when done. Easy Peasey

Auntie Sharon

We stopped by Auntie Sharon's house and saw her beautiful garden and had Sushi out. It was perfect.

Flight Attendant

On our fight home, I was a little less nervous about Kai on a plane since she did such a good job on the way out. Well, I did not know we were going to have a vibrant flight attendant.  We board the plane and there she is all smiles at my baby, but that's normal because, she is so cute. We get seated and she comes over to check on us and grabs my baby's hand with her, I kid you not, 1/2 inch long plastic nails. Now I'm thinking, I wonder how many germs you have under those massive finger nails of yours. I know Kai's little hand will be in her mouth any second now. Yep, there it goes in her mouth. O well, I'm over it. We get all situated and Kai nurses and falls asleep. Perfect. Kai is sleeping and the drink cart comes around which was a little noisy right next to us so Kai opens her eyes, but is not really awake. The flight attendant takes this time to wildly shake her head back and forth in Kai's face and talk baby talk to her. I am thinking,  ummm Kai WAS sleeping and now, not so much. So now we have a problem, Kai likes her naps and when one is abruptly interrupted she is a bit crabby. Now Kai is fussing, great cause all the other airplane passengers love that. I try nursing her again, but she is full so having none of that.  I finally get her back to sleep after much fussing:( Here is the kicker. We are getting off the plane with Kai who is now awake and happy and the flight attendant kisses her and calls her a little lamb.  Yep, she kissed her. Awkward!!!

Rose

We were just starting our drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway and at our first overlook was a beautiful red rose perched upon the sign. Wyatt and I have really been missing Maelani and many tears have been shed because she is unable to joins on our family outings. It was comforting to see this rose. I felt like it was Maelani telling us, "I'm here Mom, I'm on this drive with you too." Sometimes its the little things in life that make the day better and that day it was a rose on a sign.

I Think she is so Pretty

It just never gets old looking at her. Sometime at night when Kai sleeps I look at pictures on my phone because I miss her face. Love
