December 5th

Yesterday we went to Ioa valley and hiked. Maui is so beautiful and this place  is no exception. It’s green and you can hear the river flowing . The girls climbed on the rocks and in the trees.  After hiking we went and did a Tropical Plantation tour and learned about about growing fruits and coconuts. It was a fun tour, but Elowyn was not really a fan and was going kinda bonkers. We had lunch at the Mill house and then some ice cream and headed home for the day. The girls had to do their homework and work on their journals.

Kepaniwai park is so pretty

December 4th

This was such a fun day. The girls took snorkel lessons in Kaanapali and the trees there are so majestic and it feels so clean. Before the girls got in the water they sat down and learned about the fish they would see. It was a very nice class. Then they walked to the bay and saw so many fish, turtles and sea urchins.  We played in the water for a few hours after they were done snorkeling and then went and had lunch at an ocean front restaurant.

I did not get a good picture of the tide
Pool behind the girls, but it was a
really neat one. The lava curled up to make a
wall. It was like a perfect bathtub.

Kapaula Bay
This is just a picture of a picture but this was so cool
She swam right in front of me. So beautiful.

The girls learned that when the Sea
Urchins lose their spines they can be used
To write with on rocks.

December 3

A full 5 hour beach day! Today the weather was perfect. Not too hot, no wind, occasional clouds. Perfect day at the beach. The girls did their homework in the morning and off to the beach after that. Wyatt got to nap in his hammock, I played in the waves with the girls. We went boogie boarding. They got tumbled in the ocean a few time and still got back in the water. Wyatt and I ate at Maui  Brewing and it was yummy and not to bad on the wallet during happy hour. We will visit there again. I am so thankful for these days and they are zooming by.

December 1st and 2nd

December 1
We started the day off making gingerbread houses and doing homework. I have been really proud of the girls for sitting down in the morning to do their homework and then they work on it again in the afternoon. After that was done we went out for a yummy breakfast and then back home to watch the Chiefs play. Go Chiefs! We had a little down time then headed to Grand Wailea for the tree lighting and some sand play. It’s was so pretty when they flipped on the 7 miles of lights. We also got to enjoy some hotcocoa, cookies and Hawaiian music.  Elowyn did not make it through the  tree lighting, she fell asleep. The older kids made friends and played in the grass.
December 2
We had a quiet day, we had to get the oil changed in the car, so we took a walk to the park and the kids played with some tires and exercise equipment for awhile. We walked the beach and then headed home. Not much went on today and that’s ok. Mom, Elowyn and I snuck out to go sit on the beach a little while while the kids were playing with Daddy. While at the beach I found the best most perfect sea urchins shell. I love it.

Look at Kai’s face. She was so amazed by all
the lights.

This is the game they played.
It’s called roll down the hill.

Enso sand art. This was really fun
to make. I hope to make more

Look at this shell!! It’s so perfect

The view always makes me smile

November 30th

We had a busy busy day and headed up country in the morning. It was so beautiful and green. We went to a farmers market and loaded up on star fruit, passion fruit and homemade goodies. Then we went to Kula botanical gardens. We saw a chameleon and Rainbow Eucalyptus trees. The photos of the trees do not do it justice. They are so pretty. After the botanical garden we went to a lavender field. We were greeted with rainbows and views that just did not stop. It was breathtaking to be surrounded in such beauty. Once we were done buying a few lavender goodies, we went to lunch at a cute bistro and then headed home. We rested at home a bit and then went to the beach for an evening walk.  The girls favorite part of the day was the beach walk because they saw a rooster in a diaper.
