December 1st and 2nd

December 1
We started the day off making gingerbread houses and doing homework. I have been really proud of the girls for sitting down in the morning to do their homework and then they work on it again in the afternoon. After that was done we went out for a yummy breakfast and then back home to watch the Chiefs play. Go Chiefs! We had a little down time then headed to Grand Wailea for the tree lighting and some sand play. It’s was so pretty when they flipped on the 7 miles of lights. We also got to enjoy some hotcocoa, cookies and Hawaiian music.  Elowyn did not make it through the  tree lighting, she fell asleep. The older kids made friends and played in the grass.
December 2
We had a quiet day, we had to get the oil changed in the car, so we took a walk to the park and the kids played with some tires and exercise equipment for awhile. We walked the beach and then headed home. Not much went on today and that’s ok. Mom, Elowyn and I snuck out to go sit on the beach a little while while the kids were playing with Daddy. While at the beach I found the best most perfect sea urchins shell. I love it.

Look at Kai’s face. She was so amazed by all
the lights.

This is the game they played.
It’s called roll down the hill.

Enso sand art. This was really fun
to make. I hope to make more

Look at this shell!! It’s so perfect

The view always makes me smile

November 30th

We had a busy busy day and headed up country in the morning. It was so beautiful and green. We went to a farmers market and loaded up on star fruit, passion fruit and homemade goodies. Then we went to Kula botanical gardens. We saw a chameleon and Rainbow Eucalyptus trees. The photos of the trees do not do it justice. They are so pretty. After the botanical garden we went to a lavender field. We were greeted with rainbows and views that just did not stop. It was breathtaking to be surrounded in such beauty. Once we were done buying a few lavender goodies, we went to lunch at a cute bistro and then headed home. We rested at home a bit and then went to the beach for an evening walk.  The girls favorite part of the day was the beach walk because they saw a rooster in a diaper.

Thursday and Friday

We got up and headed out early again. The kids are still getting up at 5am so getting out early is not too hard. We headed to the park this morning and the kids had so much fun. We played in the sand. Juniper climbed trees. There was a man there playing beautiful music with his steel drum and the girls loved listening to it. We walked up the ocean and watched the surfers.  I can’t get Kai to take a surfing lesson with me, but I’m working on it.

In the afternoon the 2 older girls were playing Zelda with Dad. It was much to nice to be inside, so Mom, Elowyn and I went to the beach. We found a shady spot and watched the turtles and the crabs play.

Friday
Out the door at 7:30am  to do a little shopping at Target. We forgot it was Black Friday, but it was not to busy. Then we headed to the park to play. Then back home to watch the Hawkeyes play a little football.  When football was over we went  out the door again to a new beach. This time we went to Baldwin beach on the north side of the island  and I can’t believe how pretty it was with the reds from the lava mixing with the blues from the ocean and clouds. It was breathtaking. There was a rainbow there almost the whole time we were there. The kids watched the turtles and Kai made some nature art. Elowyn is still not feeling well so we cuddled and played with the crabs. The kids even held a hermit crab then set him back on his rock. It was a good day.

We are off!!

We are off on our month long trip to Hawaii. Wyatt is working really hard in Hawaii and we are so grateful for this experience. We started the trip off with a few  bumps in the road. June and Nana got the flu the night before we left, we looked into changing flights,  but with Thanksgiving and a storm coming it was just not happening. Even with the bumps the long flight went well.

Day 1
We all were up early and thought we better catch the sunrise and it did not disappoint. The kids were so happy to get their toes in the warm ocean and I am very content to watch them play in the sand and ocean. We walked along the ocean walk and stopped for breakfast along the way. In the afternoon we hit the pool. The plans were to visit Haleakala for the sunrise, but the 3rd victim was taken by the flu.  We hope to get tickets for another day.
