Dec 19 and 20

The last 2 days on Maui we went to beaches. I could go to a new beach every day and never get tired of them. We went to Hookipa beach, which is a big surfing beach and turtle beach. The waves were huge and the turtles were many. We checked out a cute little town on the way back and had supper.

The next day we went to a beach which had great tide pools. When I was little I loved flipping over rocks. I actually still love flipping over rocks. Tide pools are like flipping over rocks, you never know what you are going to find. Today we found amazing shells, hermit crabs, sea cucumbers, sea urchins and a neon snail. The turtles would come up and get some air while exploring the tide pools. It was a great way to close out our vacation.

December 17

I have talked to the kids about this not being our island. We are just visitors and we need to respect the land. We talked about how it’s a small island and I asked them where the trash went and why it is important to recycle. They thought we should recycle to save the turtles and fish.  Yes,  it’s easier for us that do not live here to just throw the trash away, but I don’t want to be more of a burden than I already am when I visit.  The girls did a great job sorting and then I ran it to the recycle center. After all the recycling. Mom, Elowyn and I had some lunch, did a little shopping and headed home. Next stop Frozen!!! It was so good and the kids loved the horse part, then we had ice-cream and off to the pool. For Supper they all tried Spam and decided it was not their favorite.

Spam!!

I have to brag on this little. She has finished 2
