Loving the Lake at 7 weeks old

As a child some of my fondest memoirs are at Grandpa's cabin in Osage Beach. There I learned how to fish, catch crawdads, ski, and boat like a pro.  To this day, I still enjoy packing up the car and going to the Lake.   I am excited about creating family memories with Kai at my Grandparent's lake home. I hope she enjoys the Lake as much as her Mommy and Daddy do. Here are some shots from her second lake vacation. She is still too young to boat, but she was able to sit on the dock and enjoy the nice breeze and hang out with the family.

Ayden's favorite part

We asked Ayden what was his favorite part of vacation, the boating, the fishing, the trampoline? He replied "the baby" :) He loves his new cousin.

Almost on time....

Only 45 min late walking out the door for our lake vacation. Getting better, I think.

Lake Bound

We are headed to the Lake today for some family time and Kai gets to meet Great Grandma, Yea!!! Anyone want to take bets on how long it takes us to get out of the house this Morning? I feel the need for Starbucks.

Kai got a new headband from a special friend. We love it.

I know I'm a Mom when....

1. I take a shower at 5pm with Kai in the bouncy seat in the bathroom and I felt like I accomplished something that day.

2. My mall shopping trips have become sprints. Trying to get it all in before Kai wakes up and wants to eat.

3. I can function on 2-3 hours sleep. I did not know I could run on such little sleep and still function. Kai likes to eat every 1.5 hours at night.

4 I think the Moby wrap and beca carriers are high fashion accessories.

5. It's summer and my toes have not been painted for weeks.

I am so THANKFUL to have Kai in my life!! I am thankful to be a Mom.

Kai's first art fair

It was a beautiful day in St. Louis and Mom and I headed to an art fair. We are Infusing culture into Kaiana already. She loved it.

Testing Mommy skills

We had to ventured to the mall for a swimsuit shopping expedition. Which is not that fun 5 weeks post baby and triple huge milk bags. Kai is not a great pooper. She is a every 3 days pooper. While at the mall she had a blow out. Not once but twice. Mommy handled the job perfectly and handed baby Kai to grandma:) Mommy skills 101.

Professional photos

We got all Kai's photos. I think it's going to be super hard to decide which ones to buy. Here is the link if you want to take a peek. www.InTheMomentSTL.com under proofing, password is KAI.

Kai had a photo shoot by Mom and a DR appt

Kai was sleepy after her Dr appt so I took the opportunity to take pictures of my pretty little lady. Her 1 month check up went well. She was 6lb 120z, 20inches. She is still below the 10th percentile in weight and head size but 25th in height.  She had one shot at the appt and I have to say it broke my heart. She looked up at me with these big blue sad eyes and was saying Mom why did you let them do that to me. I think I want to send Daddy next time.

Super Moon

We packed up the family, picked up some salads from Imo's and went on a night picnic to gaze at the super moon. We got there and Wyatt set up the camera equipment and I strapped Kai to me and off we went, well for about 15 min anyway, then I realized that the thought of Kai getting bitten by a bug was unbearable and back to the car we went. Wyatt stayed back and got some really good moon photos and Kai and I had a salad in the car.

March of Dimes, Team Maelani

We had a successful March of Dimes, team Maelani walk. We were so thankful to have all the support and donations for Team Maelani.  They have a baby boulevard with all the babies pictures and its always a tear jerker to see little Maelani on a big picture board. We miss her like crazy and now that Kai is here I always wonder if they would have looked alike and how there personalities would be different. I remain thankful for the 16 days we got to spend with Maelani, but I always wish I could get more time with her and watch her grow up.

Butterfly 2 Beco Carrier

I ordered this carrier so we would have it for Maelani's walk and it came a day late, darn, but I love it so I don't mind it was a day late.  I have used the Beco many times already because it is so easy to get her into.  I tried the Moby wrap and have not given up on it, but no matter how many times I have watched the you tube video on how to tie the carrier and place Kai into it, the hold always seems a little off and complicated.  It's too lose or too tight or Kai's head is not quite right. The Beco, however is easy breezy. I lay it on the couch snap Kai into it and place her on me like a back pack. A bonus is it also fits Wyatt, which is pretty amazing when you think about it fitting both of us:)
